Academic Team

Academic Team is a student quiz team, currently made up of about 30 participants, that compete across the state as well as nationally. The season Begins after Quarter 1, and practices are in room D-3 after school Thursdays until all competitions are finished. All students are welcome but not all students travel with the team.
 
  • We will possibly compete in these State competitions:
        • Yellowstone Academic Tourney
        • Southwestern Academic Olympiad at MSU
    • If we win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at any of those tournaments we can qualify for the State Tourney at U of M in April.  We have earned a spot in the State Tourney for 4 years.  The State competition began in 2011, so PHS has been there for 4 out of the 5 years.  In 2014, we won the State tourney and moved on to the National Tournament in Chicago where we also did well.
