Late yesterday evening, multiple school districts across the state of Montana, including the Livingston School District, received an email making threats toward schools. In this email, there was no mention of the state of Montana, Park County, or any specific school. School officials and law enforcement do not deem these threats to be credible, and, at this time, this notification is an informational and cautionary measure.
While these threats are unfounded, they can certainly cause a great deal of concern and disruption within our school communities. We take threats seriously and are grateful for the support of our local law enforcement. We will continue to monitor the situation with local law enforcement and will work closely with them and verify the accuracy and authenticity of any reports we receive. In the meantime, school operations will continue as normal.
The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority.
