Message from Superintendent Johnson regarding L'Esprit and CSCT Services

Greetings LPS Students, Parents, Staff, and Community

As we prepare for the start of the 2023-24 school year, I wanted to take a moment to welcome all students, staff, and parents to LPS and I am looking forward to an amazing year. Our mission at the Livingston Public Schools is, in partnership with the community, to provide the opportunity for all students to learn, in a safe environment, the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to become lifelong learners and contributing citizens in a diverse society.  It will be my professional privilege this year to embody this mission as much as possible through the challenges we will inevitably face. I'd like to take this opportunity to address the issue of CSCT services in the Livingston Public Schools. In essence, the mental health services that have been provided in the past will remain in place for the upcoming school year. The CSCT agreement that we currently have in place will expire on August 31, 2023. However, Livingston Public Schools, in conjunction with L’esprit, is working on an independent contractor agreement that provides continued mental health services to our students. I appreciate all the stakeholders and the dialogue that was created during this transition, and I am very pleased to see that services for our students will continue in the manner as outlined in our mission.

Mr. Johnson
