PROFESSIONAL BIO: I am a 4th generation Montanan! I grew up in Miles City, but left home to attend college. I attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, where I earned a degree in English Literature. While at Pepperdine, I was fortunate to participate in a 6 week archeological dig in Egypt and Turkey. I then spent three 3 weeks touring the Greek Islands. It was the experience of a lifetime! Upon graduation, I enrolled in graduate school at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, where I earned my MA in English Literature. I wrote my thesis on Frederick Douglass and the slave narrative.
I took a break from school and began working in the commercial real estate business, but ultimately returned to college at Eastern Washington University and received a BA in Education. I taught for 6 years in the Renton, WA school district where I was the Title I Reading Director and a Literacy Coach. Eventually, the prairies beckoned me home, and I returned to Montana and took a position as the director of the Reading program at Miles Community College in Miles City. While in Miles City, I also obtained a commodities license and began managing a grain elevator. I have had a varied and exciting array of jobs!
I am married to Brian, and we have 2 darling fur babies, our puppies Lewis and Clark! We love Livingston and are excited to be here! I look forward to a successful year!
